Abstract
Autotransplantation of teeth is a predictable and well-documented treatment choice in cases of tooth loss in anterior region in children. The regenerative potential of the tooth-graft and more specifically of periodontium offers a treatment option not only for tooth replacement but also alveolar bone growth. Contrary to the old perception of autotransplantation of solely immature teeth, nowadays we apply the procedure to fully developed teeth having high success rate, both in children and adults. The purpose of this lecture is to present clinical cases and the interdisciplinary protocol we follow. Furthermore, we will also discuss possible endodontic and periodontic complications associated with treatment failure.
