Abstract
Irrigation is an integral part of the fundamental stage of chemical and mechanical disinfection of the root canal system. While the use of NaOCl and EDTA is a gold standard, newer data regarding the use of continuous chelation protocols are at the scientific forefront. The purpose of this presentation is to bridge the latest available laboratory and clinical scientific data with daily clinical practice, aiming for optimal clinical practice in terms of safety and efficiency, regarding the achievement of successful endodontic treatment outcomes.
